Where to Eat in Avila
Avila has great diversity in its food. Among the main courses are suckling pig, goat, and lamb. You can't go to Avila without trying the Moragueño, baked, stuffed peppers or the typical potato dish called 'Revolconas'.
It is a tradition in Avila "ir de tapas", literally go for tapas. One of the best places for tapas is the "zona de los mesones" so called for the 'meson' type bars around there.
The 'Yemas de Santa Teresa' are the typical dessert of the city. You can find them in "La Flor de Castilla" pastry shop. Other pastry shops make them but under the name of 'Yemas de Ávila'.
