Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art
The building of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, in Catalan), better known as MACBA is a building of stone, glass and metal designed by Richard Meier and opened in 1995.
The permanent collection began in the 1940s, with artists like Jean Dubuffet, Alexa Calder and Marcel Broodthaers, and ends with the more contemporary Christian Boltanski, Rosemary Trockel, Richard Long and Jaume Plensa. There are two floors dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the art.
