Gracia Festival of Barcelona
Gràcia is a district of Barcelona, divided into five areas, which between 1850 and 1897 was an independent municipality of the city.
Today Gràcia is considered one of the most bohemian parts of Barcelona and is the home of the famous rumba catalana. The Major Fiesta in Gràcia is as much a tradition for Barcelona natives, as for people coming from other cities.
During a week in mid-July, Gracia takes on a new look for a large part. There is a celebrated contest for choosing the best decorated street. Various activities also take place such as concerts, sardanas (typical Catalan dance), castells (human towers), workshops and fireworks.
