Where to Eat in Bilbao
The main ingredients of Bilbao's cuisine are food from the sea and estuary, such as cod and eels. Bacalao al pil-pil (cod), hake in green sauce,squid in its ink or Bilbao cardinalfish are famous examples.
Another traditional dish is the pintxo (a slice of bread with many toppings), which can be found in any restaurant or bar in Bilbao, although the Old Quarter is the most traditional. They are usually accompanied with Txacoli (white wine) or a Zurita (glass of beer).
