Buitrago del Lozoya
Buitrago del Lozoya is a village situated at the foot of the port of Somosierra at the northern tip of Madrid province 75 Km away from the capital.
It is the only town in the entire province that retains its full ancient walled enclosure.
The Lozoya River surrounds the village on all sides except the South, forming a natural moat defense.
Buitrago del Lozoya has been a Historic-Artistic and Cultural Property since 1993, as well as its walled enclosure which was named a National Monument in 1931.
