The Burgos Castle
Burgos Castle was built in 884 by Count Diego
Rodriguez on a hill at 75 m. above sea level.
Over the centuries it has suffered many changes and
reconstruction until it was completely destroyed by the
Napoleon troops in 1813.
The partial reconstruction of the fortress has allowed the Burgos Castle
to be re-opened in 2003 as a museum where you can visit the well
and the underground galleries of over 300 m. length which
accessed via a spiral staircase around a cylinder
1.40 m vertical in diameter and 61.50 m. deep.
Burgos Castle also has a viewpoint from which
provides a spectacular view of the city.
