The Our Lady of Health Fair is held in Cordoba in late May and and lasts 10 days.
The Cordoba Fair is held at the Arenal fairgrounds which is filled with traditional huts decorated with lanterns, lit lamps and garlands. The hundreds of stalls are open to anyone wishing to participate in music, dancing, singing, wine and costumes. In addition, the Fair also features rollercoaster rides.
The origin of the Fair dates back to 1665 when two farmers, in front of the Puerta de Sevilla, found the image of a little virgin in a well whose water supposedly restored all patients that were said to have drinken the water back to health. To commemorate the discovery, a chapel was erected in the vicinity and the Fair was created.
