Gijón
Gijon has historically been an industrial city producing iron, steel and chemicals but it has also managed to become an attractive city for tourists.
Thanks to the pedestrianization of the old town, the creation of parks as Isabel la Católica park and the opening of several museums as Jovellanos Birthplace Museum, Railway Museum or the Museum of the people of Asturias, Gijon has become a tourism landmark of the Cantabrian coast.
Something we must not forget in Gijon is the neighbourhood of Cimadevilla, the home of fishermen and oldest part of town, declared a Historical and Artistic Interest.
Valleys and hills surround the city, facing the sea, with a steep coastline giving way to a beautiful bay, San Lorenzo, with beaches, such as the beach of San Lorenzo or the beach of Poniente with all sorts of services.
