Jovellanos Birthplace Museum of Gijon
The Jovellanos Birthplace Museum, built at the end of the fourteenth century, is in the palace house where the famous thinker Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos (1744-1811) was born.
The museum has the thinker’s personal objects, as well as collections with works by various artists, such as Dali, Goya and several works by 19th an 20th century Asturian artists.
Attached to the house is the Chapel of Our Lady of Remedios with the tomb of Jovellanos.
