Federico Garcia Lorca House- Museum in Granada
The Federico Garcia Lorca House Museum is located in the former summer home of the artists family, known as the Huerta de San Vicente.
The family spent the summers between 1926 and 1936 here and Federico García Lorca wrote some of his most important works including When 5 Years Pass, Blood Wedding and Yerma. The poet lived in this house in the days before his arrest and murder in August 1936, at the beginning of the Spanish civil war.
In 1995, the Huerta de San Vicente was opened to the public as a place of historical and literary memory. It consists of two hectares of land, two houses and all the original furniture that could be retained. There are alo family photographs, drawings by the poet and his friends and manuscripts.
