Linares Palace of Madrid
The Linares Palace, located in the Plaza de Cibeles, has been the headquarters of American Home Consortium since 1992, and a strategic enclave for the promotion and exchange of cultural arts activities. To this end, the center organizes numerous exhibitions, debates, lectures, courses, etc..
The building, opened in 1900, is noted for its beauty and quality of materials, as can be seen in the Carrar marble staircase. The decor is inspired by the French style of the Second Empire, and includes works by Francisco Pradilla, Casto Plasencia and Valeriano Dominguez Becquer.
It is said that the palace is inhabited by a ghost, the soul of a young maid who died tragically and who was the illegitimate offspring of the Marquis de Linares.
The visits to the Linares Palace are guided and they take one hour.
