Palace of Communications of Madrid
The Palacio de Comunicaciones (Palace of Comunications, in english) de Madrid is an emblematic building and the headquarters of the Mayor of Madrid since 2007.
Located in the Plaza de Cibeles, it was built as the headquarters for the Spain Post and Telegraphy Company.
The style of the building incorporates elements of the neo-Gothic and late regional Spanish Gothic.
Leon Trotsky, on a visit to Madrid in the 30s, when contemplating the building was so overwhelmed by its greatness that he called it 'Our Lady of Communications'.
