Casa de las Conchas of Salamanca
The Casa de las Conchas (The Shell House, in english) is a Gothic-style building with plateresque and Mudejar elements. In the interior is a courtyard with Mixed arches, a staircase and coffered ceiling.
Construction was started in 1493 and completed in 1517. In 1929 it was declared a National Monument.
Since 1993, and after a lengthy restoration, its interior has housed a public library of the State.
The most remarkable thing without doubt is its facade decorated with over 300 shells and multiple escutcheons and shields.
