The Santa Cruz Museum of Toledo
The former Holy Cross hospital is from 1961 and is the Museum of
the Santa Cruz. The museum has three sections: Archaeology, Fine
Arts and Industrial Arts.
The hospital of Santa Cruz was built in the sixteenth century by
Cardenal Mendoza to accommodate orphans and homeless children
The Archaeology section of the Santa Cruz Museum is dedicated to
Roman cultures, Visigoth, Arab and Moorish. The Fine Arts section
has a major exhibition of paintings from Toledo dating from the
XVI and XVII centuries by artists such as El Greco. Arts Section
industry is composed of elements of popular culture
local artisan traditions such as ceramics, glass, textiles,
the forge and metalwork.
