Valladolid

Valladolid was founded between 1601 and 1606 and served as the capital of the Spanish Empire until the capital moved permanently to Madrid.

Valladolid still conserves its historic downtown which includes several palaces, plazas, and churches of an important museum heritage that gives the city its character.

Among the cultural events that take place during Holy Week in Valladolid is the Valladolid International Film Festival.
