Stage 10:Santo Domingo de la Calzada-Belorado (22,7 km)
Description
A stage with flat and mountainous parts, which for many sections runs parallel to the N-120 road.
On this stage we leave Rioja and enter the the province of Burgos in Castilla y Leon.
(1)Santo Domingo de la Calzada-(2)Grañon: 0-6.8 km
We leave Santa Domingo de la Calzada and immediately meet the N-120. All the way to Grañon
we go parallel to the road along a dirt path which only separates a little from the road before we get to Grañon (see photos 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5). Finally at the 6.8km we enter Grañon (see photo 6).
(2)Grañon-(3)Redecilla: 6.8-10.8(4.0 km)
We cross Grañon from beginning to end along the main street and continue along a wide dirt path (see photo 7) without any interruptions until Redecilla del Camino. Just at the entrance to Redecilla we return to the N-120 road (see photo 8). Redecilla is the first town of Castilla y Leon.
(3)Redecilla-(4)Castildelgado: 108-124(1.6 km)
We cross Redecilla del Camino and return to going parallel to the N-120 (see photo 9) until we are almost at Castildelgado when we take a left to enter into the town ( see photo 10).
(4)Castildelgado-(5)Viloria de Rioja: 12.4-14.4(2.0 km)
We leave Castildelgado and, once again continue along the N-120 (see photo 12) but this time we come across the country road “cogeresmso” to our left going in the direction of Viloria de Rioja (see photo 12).
(5)Viloria de Rioja-(6)Villamayor del Rio: 14.4-17.8(3.4)
We cross Viloria de Rioja and continue along the pretty little road (see photo 13) along which we entered the town. Unfortunately at the point at 15.9 km of the stage ( see photo 14) the way returns to the N-120 , which leads us (see photo 15) to Villamayor del Rio.
(6)Villamayor del Rio-(7)Belorado: 17.8-22.7(4.9 km)
We cross Villamayor and again follow the road (see photo 16) until we get to the entrance of Belorado where we leave the road ( see photo 17).
