Ponte de Lima

Ponte de Lima is one of the oldest cities in Portugal. It was an important factor in roman times due to it’s influence in regards to the path of union between Braga and Santiago de Compostela.
Ponte de Lima crosses the river Lima(from where it gets it’s name) and the most prominent feature of it’s architecture is the roman bridge which is also crosses.
Nowadays it is a beautiful city which has a looked after medieval quarter.
The next village, Rubiaes, is 17,2 km away
