Stage 5: Rubiaes-Tui(19,3 km)
Rubiaes-Sao Bento:0-4,3 km
Sao Bento-Fontoura:4,3-7,5 (3,2 km)
Fontoura-Valença do Minho:7,5-16,0 (8,5 km)
Valença do Minho-Tui:16,0-19,3(3,3 km)
In this stage we leave behind Portugal after 119 km from Porto. The Border city in Portugal is Valenca do Minho and Tui in Spain
This stage is easy because there is only a slope between the km 3 and 5, and its not too steep. For the cyclists we recommend to follow the road at some points, where the camino doesn’t have many stones which make it more difficult for the cyclists. (look at the option highlighted in orange on the map)
Where to eat
In the km 4,3 and 7,5 there are two bars but the first place which we will find where can eat is the restaurant Fonte Douro, in the km 8,3, coming out of the village Fontoura.
In the km 12,8 where the camino joins with the road N13, there are three steakhouses where you can find something to eat.
At the end of this stage, in both Valenca do Minho and in Tui, there are many places where you can eat.
Where to sleep
Towards to the end of this stage you can’t find anywhere to sleep at night. In Valenca do Minho there is a hostel and a few hotels, meanwhile in the spanish area of Tui, there are two hostels and a few hotels as well.
