Valença do Minho
Accomodation: hostel and hotels
One of the main highlighs of this city is it’s walls.
Valença was founded in the century XII with the name of Contrasta, facing the spanish city of Tui. However it wasn’t until the century XVII that Valencase became stronghold due to the construction of one of the first architectural military gothic and baroque pieces of art in Portugal.
To access this there are 4 doors that lead to a medieval quarter made up of narrow streets, which nowadays are dominated by tourists.
The next village, Tui, is 3.3 km away
