Stage 13: Laza-Xunqueira de Ambía (32.6 km)
Laza-Soutelo Verde (0-3.8 km)
Soutelo Verde-Tamicelas (3.8-6.8 km)
Tamicelas-Albergueria (6.8-11.9 km)
Albergueria-Vilar de Barrio (11.9-18.9 km)
Vilar de Barrio-Bóveda (18.9-21.3 km)
Bóveda-Bobadela (21.3-27.3 km)
Bobadela-Xunqueira de Ambía (27.3-32.6 km)
We go out of Laza along the OU-113 (photo 1 km 1.0) highway which brings us to the small village of Soutelo Verde (photo 2 km 3.8) which we enter and cross to return at the exit to the OU-113.
Just as we leave Soutelo Verde (photo 3 km 4.3) we meet a dirt road on the right onto which we turn. If going by bicycle you are recommended to follow the highway until the Albergueria peak.
Follow the path (photo 4 km 5.1) until you reach the small town of Tamicelas (photo 5 km 6.8). Continue up the steep path (photos 6, 7 ande 8) until you get to the OU-113 highway (photo 9 km 10.8).
Follow the highway a kilometre to the small town of Albergueria. There we will find one of the most peculiar things of the camino, the bar "Rincon del peregrino," a bar with thousands of hanging shells. Luis, the owner of the bar, has also has a small hostel beside the bar.
If travelling by bike we continue cycling along the road OU-113 to 15.8 km (photo 10) to leave the highway for good and and follow camino.
If walking, cross the small town of Albergueria and you will come out on a path that crosses the highway at km 14.5 (photo 11) to later join it and leave it for good at km 15.8 km (photo 12).
We follow the path, now on a steep descent to 16.9 km (photo 13) where we will follow the OU-114 highway for a few meters and leave it at km 17.3 (photo 14) before later joining it again to enter Vilar de Barrio along the OU-114 (photo 15 km 18.4).
From Vilar de Barrio to Xunqueira de Ambía the stage is completely flat with a slight descent at the end.
We leave Vilar de Barrio by the calle de la Fuente which converges with the highway (photo 16 km 20.2) which brings us to the next populated area, Bóveda (photo 17 km 21.3) which we inadvertently cross to arrive in Vilar Gomareite. In both Bóveda and Vilar de Gomareite there are just a few houses and no services for pilgrims.
We leave Vilar de Gomareite along a path (photo 18 km 26.5) that leads to another small town, just like the two we left behind: Bovadela (photo 19 km 27.3).
We leave Bovadela along a small trail that becomes a stone path (photos 20,21,22,23 and 24) until the entrance of Xunqueira de Ambía 8photo 25 km 31.7). If you want to go to the hostel turn right. If you want to go into town continue straight.
