Sections
Valdesalor – Cáceres: 0-12.7 km
Cáceres – Casar de Cáceres: 12.7-23.3 (10.6 km)
Description
We leave Valdesalor by Cristóbal Colón Street and cross the N-630 to turn left along a path that runs parallel to the road. In about a kilometre ahead turn to the right to cross a bridge over the A-66. The road then turns to run parallel to the N-630 (photo 1 km 2.1) until it meets the road, crossing via a tunnel (photo 2 km 4.0) to follow parallel but on the other side. Cyclists are advised to take the road N-630. In 5.8 km the road bends to cross the road N-630 to go directly to Caceres passing through a type of clearing that is typical outside such major cities (photo 3 km 7.7).
We enter an industrial estate to arrive at the Océano Atlántico street which passes via a gas station whhere the road branches into two avenues: Cervantes Avenue and Ronda de San Francisco. We take the latter, which leads us to a large roundabout, take the left exit down the street named Camino llano, until we reach the road Roso de Luna which brings us to the Plaza Mayor of Cáceres. We cross and at the first street we encounter, la Gerenal Margallo, we turn left. At number the building number 36 we find the Albergue Turístico Las Veletas. If you prefer to stay at the Albergue Municipal continue via la calle de Peñas.
Following on until we reach Casar de Cáceres we then take the Calle General Maragallo until we reach the plaza de toros (photo 4) we circle to the left to take the road Casar de Caceres. We follow the road until the 16.9 km stage (photo 5) where we abandon the N-630, turning left to stay on a small path (photo 6 and 7) that runs more or less parallel to the main road, until we reach the entrance of Casar de Cáceres. We enter by the main street (photo 8) which is the continuation of the road we came. On reaching the plaza España we find the hostel Casar de Caceres.
