Description
Follow the road that crosses Quiroga leaving the pilgrim refuge on your left (photo 1 km 0). At the end of the town, you will approach a new fork where you should keep straight on by going under the bridge of the N-120 (photo 2 km 1.0). 300 meters further, there is a crossroads but you should keep again straight on (photo 3 km 1.3). Follow the LU-933 road (photo 4, 5 and 6; km 1.7, km 2.4 and km 3.0) for about 3 km.
The path that leads again to the road crosses the town of Espandariz so if you want to visit it you should make a detour to the right (photo 7 km 3.0) and then continue on the left-hand Street (photo 8 km 3.0). Afterwards, keep straight on (photo 9 km 3.1) until you reach a dirt road (photo 10 km 3.2) that comes out again onto LU-933 road. Then follow the road and after about half kilometer make a detour to the right (photo 11 km 3.7). This should lead you to a tunnel that goes under the N-120 (photo 12 km 3.8).
Once you have crossed the tunnel, turn left. You will reach a terrace (photo 13 km 3.9) where Euro Club Restaurante (an old restaurant) is abandoned. Follow the road towards Nocedo and parallel to N-120 (photo 14 km 4.0). Following the road you will see a sign saying “Nocedo” (photo 15 km 4.2). You should not make a detour, but keep following the road (photo 16 km 4.7). In a curve in the road, there is a dirt path that seems to be a detour but it is not (photo 17 km 5.3) so keep following the road. After about 1.5 km, you should get out of the road by a right-hand dirt path (photo 18 km 6.7).
The beginning of this path gently slopes (photo 19 km 7.2) but then it goes again flat (photo 20 km 7.5) and passes through a pine wood (photo 21 km 8.2). Then you will reach a road that you should cross (photo 22 km 8.6). Keep following the slight sloping road on the right side (photo 23 km 9.1) until you reach a small straight line where you should turn left before the Stop sign (photo 24 km 9.5).
Keep going through the pine wood (photo 25 km 10.0). After a slight slope, there is a fork where you should turn to the right (photo 26 km 10.2). After a few meters there is a new fork but this time you should take the hand-left downhill branch (photo 27 km 10.2). The path gradually goes from a grass path (photo 28 km 11.0) to a dirt path again (photo 27 km 10.2) until you reach a terrace where you should keep on the right (photo 30 km 12.0). About less than one kilometer further, you will reach a paved road where you will approach the Hermitage of los Remedios (photo 31 km 12.7).
Pass in front of it and keep following the road (photo 32 km 12.8) that gradually turns again into a dirt path (photo 33 km 13.3) which you should follow straight on until you approach Carballo de Lor (photo 34 km 13.5). Go through the town following the signs (photo 35 km 13.6) until the exit, a hand-left slope (photo 36 km 13.7). Continue on the right in the first curve (photo 38 km 14.1), on the left in the second one (photo 38 km 14.1) and on the right in the third one (photo 39 km 14.1).
If you make a detour to the left in the last crossroads, you will get to Barxa de Lor after about 2 km. There is a hostel (Hostal Pacita) and a tavern (Mesón Lor) there. For taking up again your journey, it is easier to keep straight on by the road that you were following and get out of the town by a hand-right path than cycling again the segment done. This path comes out directly onto the Camino de Invierno.
If you do not make the detour, you should follow this road for about a kilometer until the detour of Trampilla (photo 40 km 14.9) where you should continue on the left. Keep going downhill through the town (photo 42 km 15.4) until you cross the stone bridge (photo 43 km 15.5) after which there is an ascent where you will left the church on your right (photo 44 km 15.6). It will lead you to a small terrace with a crucifix in the middle of it (photo 45 km 15.7) and followed by a fork: take the steep slope on the left (photo 46 km 15.7) that later on becomes gentler (photo 47 km 15.9). Keep straight on by this road (photo 48 and 49 km) until the km 16.9 where you should make a detour to the right by a dirt road (photo 50 km 16.9) which is really easy to follow (photo 51 km 17.6). Follow the path until you approach a new detour on the left at km 18.6 (photo 52).
One kilometer after, there is a branch on the left that meets up the path that you are following. Keep straight on (photo 53 km 19.6) for about a kilometer and a half (photo 54 km 20.4) until you reach the road. Cross the road and continue towards Castroncelos, Piñeiros and A Pobra de Brollón (photo 55 km 21.3).
After a few meters, you will approach the entrance to Castroncelos (photo 56 km 21.5). Go through the town following the main road (photo 57 km 21.7) until the exit of the town. Keep following this road without taking the detour to Piñeiros (photo 58 km 22.0) and a little bit further, you will approach Vilarmao (photo 59 km 22.3) Go through the town until the exit road that is located 300 meters ahead, towards Reguengo (photo 60 km 22.6).
Less than 100 meters further, there is a small crossroads where you should take the path in the middle (photo 61 km 22.7). Afterwards follow the same path (photo 62 km 23.2) that after about a kilometer leads you to the entrance of A Pobra de Brollón (photo 63 km 23.49).
At the first crossroads, you should take the hand-left street (photo 64 km 23.5) until you approach a road where you should continue on the left (photo 65 km 23.6). Shortly afterwards you should turn right (photo 66 km 23.6) which will lead you the Saa River (photo 67 km 23.7). Cross it, keep straight on and cross the bridge on your left (photo 68 km 23.7). If you keep straight on, you will reach the main road (photo 69 km 23.8) on your right. After a few meters further, you will find the Bar Avenida (a pub) on your right.
